Perfect ending to 2008…

Images are to come on this one, but had to share this. For the first time I almost started crying while working a wedding. The images will clinch this for you, but imagine this. The father of the bride, with his only daughter (four boys and Anita) getting married, had yet to see Anita in her dress.

Anita is standing in the dressing room of her suite, as her Dad opens the door to see her, immediate smiles on both their faces…then it happened…they both melted as would a stick of butter on a hot griddle. What a moment to witness and have the privilege to photograph. I had to gather myself to make sure I didn’t lose it as well. Thank you Anita and John for making me a part of your day…it was an amazing end to a wonderful year!

So here is why I photograph weddings…I am not blogging more than these three simple images from Anita & John’s wedding…this is enough for me to sum it all up. Check their slideshow out here.

Yes, it was a tender moment indeed I imagine. I was downstairs awaiting the bride, but then they had another moment just before she entered the room—I almost began to cry as well. How lovely to be witness to such open emotion and deep, deep caring between a parent and a child. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
