Dana & Robert’s Wedding in New Hope, PA

Dana & Robert (the groom formerly known as BJ) got married on a beautiful day on Saturday at Holly Hedge Estate…okay okay so it wasn’t most people’s definition of beautiful, but it was. The day started for me after seeing Dana’s status on Facebook and she was a little bummed about the weather…my comment…weather, what weather. It all worked out and EVERYONE had an amazing time.

Check their slideshow here.

This ring shot was so easy after picking up a Canon G9 that made it so easy and beautiful…fun fun

Love Joe’s perspective on this shot!

Great shot from Joe!

Dana had a little aim issues going on after spinning around a few times…

Joe saw this great window during the ceremony so we all headed up before the cocktail hour started for some cool shots!

I was lucky to have an emergency fill-in for my second shooter in one Joe Gidjunis from JPG Photography…thanks again Joe it was fun! Flowers by Carousel Florist, DJ Steve Croce from Silver Sound, Video by Belk Video.

I love Holley Hedge Estates. I would have loved photographing there. Not the predictable shots in the same old places I’ve seen done there. I really like the glowing edge on the dancing photo! You did a great job.

Heather & Mark Engagement at Ridley Creek State Park

On Thursday Heather, Mark and I spent some time at Ridley Creek State Park outside of Newtown Square, PA. We have a fun time and got some great images. Their wedding is next year with the reception at The Mendenhall Inn near Longwood Gardens. Heather’s Dad used to be the Principal at Liz’s school, roommates with Jamie, and is good friends with Nicki who’s wedding I shot a few years ago at Cairnwood. Mark and Heather actually picked their wedding date based on when I was available…very flattering…thanks guys and hope you had as much fun as I did!

The model now known at Heather…

Okay is it me or does Mark look just a little like Kevin James?…just a little…

My fav from the day….Heather’s eyes are awesome (so are yours Mark…lol)

Well…first of all thanks to everyone…and there were a lot of you…that visited the MyFoxPhilly listing for SingleExposure Photography. Unfortunately due to the fact that an administrator on their end put me in the wrong place (the Shore instead of the Philly list) and never had my properly set up in the contest…I didn’t win. But that is okay. Your comments were incredible and I thank you all!

Molly’s mother, Darlene Clark, won the grand prize of referring the most people to the site so congrats to her and she has already spent the $200 print credit! Hopefully next year MyFoxPhilly gets my listing right and in the contest as it should be! More next year.

Check out all the amazing comments here.

NILMDTS Fund Drive

I am part of an amazing organization called Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. Here is an important message from the organization.

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.
President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child. Reagan stated, “A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies. It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members… ” To read the full Proclamation signed by Reagan, CLICK HERE.

If you are in a place to make even a small contribution to NILMDTS, please know that doing so will continue to allow the organization to provide improved resources, training, communication, and other tools necessary in support of our amazing contingent of professional photographers who provide the gift of free remembrance portraiture to families in need.
Our next project we are working on is an online, interactive webinar version of our Formal NILMDTS Training taught by Co-Founder Sandy Puc’ allowing anyone in any country with access to a computer to complete the course online. Donations help make programs like this a reality!

New Canon Cameras for Wedding Photography in Philadelphia!

Well for me I wasn’t jumping up and down for joy, but I will certainly have two new tools in my hands before the end of the year. The first is the new Canon 5D Mark II which has 21 megapixels which will allow me to get just amazing details of those large bridal parties…and the new Canon G10 which is the new version of the G9 which is an amazing detail camera for rings, flowers, and all the little things you spend days planning for the wedding!

Philadelphia Phillies for Wedding Clients

Well just visited the Phillies ticket office and put the deposit down on season tickets for next year. So any of my existing wedding clients keep your eyes open for some emails with dates that I will be offering pairs of tickets for some games!

Enjoy the end of the season…personally as a Boston Red Sox fan (sorry my Yankees fans) it looks pretty safe…but what an end to a season in almost all the divisions!

New Cameras…

For those of you that enjoy photography personally, this September is the annual Photokina Trade Show and all the manufacturers launch new stuff there. Nikon and Canon have announced some things already like the Nikon D90 and the Canon 50D. But most Canon users, me included, are awaiting the announcement of a replacement of a camera that is my “bread n’ butter” the Canon 5D. If you are a geek like me you can watch the “evolution” yourself!

There have been all sorts of fun stuff announced as well, the only ones I am interested in besides the 5D replacement are the Zeiss lenses for Canon, which should be superb lenses to soak in lots of details, and the Leica M8.2…I have always wanted to own a Leica…someday!!

Valley Forge Park Model Shoot

Well I am still working on the evaluation and comparison of the sweet Canon 200mm lens, but in the meantime here are some great shots from a fun session that Erik Matey (see Erik’s shots here) & I arranged and had Mark Gardner (see Mark’s shots here) and Stacie Lech along…we all got some amazing pictures…here are a few of mine.

Erik lined up a few great models through ModelMayhem, and all were great fun to work with. If you ever need a model there are great, talented, models on this site.
